Express Dialup Networking entry Windows 95 / 98 / ME
- Double
click on the My Computer icon.
- Next,
double click on the Dial Up Networking folder.
- You
will now create a new dial up entry. If you already have icons in the
folder, just double click the Make New Connection icon.
- Name
the entry SECNet, and select the modem you'd like to use.
- Click
Next to continue.
- Enter
your local dial-up number.
- Click
Finish to continue.
- You
will now see your new SECNet Dial Up icon.
- Drag
and Drop this icon to your desktop.
- Double
click the new SECNet Dial Up icon.
- Enter
your username.
- Enter

How do I make a new Dialup Networking entry for Windows
95?
- Click
on the Start button, select Programs, select Accessories, and select
Dial-Up Networking
- Double-click
on Make New Connection icon.
- At
the Type a name for the computer you are dialing: input field, type in
SECNet
- Click
on the Next button.
- At
the Telephone number input field, type in 0198333777
- Click
on the Next button.
- Click
on the Finish button.
- In
the Dial-up Networking window, right-click on the SECNet icon and
left-click Properties.
- Click
on the Server Type tab.
- For
the Type of Dial-Up Server, select the PPP: Windows 95, Windows NT
3.5, Internet option.
- Un-select
Log on to Network, un-select NetBEUI, un-select IPX/SPX compatible and
leave the TCP/IP selected.
- Click
on the TCP/IP Settings tab
- Select
"Server assigned IP address" option.
- Select
"Server assigned name server addresses" option.
- Click
on the OK button to return to properties window.
- Click
on the OK button again to finish the process to return to main Dial-Up
Networking window.

- Double

2000?
- Click
on 'Start' | 'Programs' | 'Accessories' |'Communications' | 'Network and
Dialup Connections'.
- Double-click
on 'Make New Connection'.
- On
the 'Welcome' screen, select 'I want to set up my Internet connection
manually' and click on 'Next'.
- Select
'I connect through a phone line and a modem' and click on 'Next'.
- Enter
the dial up number 0198333777. Make sure that 'Use area code and dialing
rules' is not selected. Click on 'Next'.
- Enter
your username@secnet.com.au
- Enter
your password.
- Please
note that username/password are both case sensative and must be entered
correctly.
- Enter
SECNet for a connection name, and click on 'Next'.
- Next,
you will be asked if you want to continue setting up an Internet Mail
account. If you have no preference in web browsers, we recommend that
you select 'Yes', and click on 'Next' to continue setup of the MS
Internet Explorer and Outlook Express. (see below)
- If
you wish to use the Netscape Communicator as your web browser and email
program, select 'No' and click on 'Next'.
- Make
sure to select the box for 'To connect to the Internet immediately...'
and click on 'Finish'.
- Click
on 'Connect'.

How do I make a new Dialup Networking entry for Windows
XP?
- Click
on the Start button and then go to Control Panel.
- If
you have Windows XP setup in Classic mode then simply click on the start
Button and go directly to 'Network connections'.
- If
you are not already in the 'network connections' window, then click on
the 'network conections' icon in the control panel.
- Double
click on the make new connection icon.
- This
will start the Network conenction Wizard which is a step-by-step process
to making a dial-up connection with SECNet.
- Select
'Connect to the Internet' and click Next.
- Select
'Set up my conection manually' and click next to continue.
- Enter
The Name "SECNet" . in the 'ISP Name' Field.
- Enter
the dial up number 0198333777
- Enter
your SECNet username in the 'User Name' field. username@secnet.com.au
- Enter
your SECNet password in the 'Password' and 'Confirm Password' fields.
- Tick
the box marked 'Use this account name and password when anyone connects
to the Internet from this computer'.
- Click
next to continue.
- Click
finish to complete the setup of your SECNet Internet connection.

How do I set up my Macintosh running OS 8.x or 9.x?
- Double
click on on the hard drive icon on your desktop.
- Double-click
on the 'Assistants' or the Internet folder.
- Double-click
on the 'Internet Setup Assistant'
- One
or more of the following screens will appear:
- If
you are asked if you want to set up your computer for the Internet,
click on 'Yes'.
- If
you are asked asked if you have an Internet account, click on 'Yes'.
- If
you are asked whether to 'Register' or to 'Update', click on the
'Update' button.
- The
'Internet Setup Assistant' will begin.
- Read
the Introduction, then click the right arrow.
- If
you are asked whether to 'Add', 'Modify', or 'Remove', Select 'Add
Internet Configuration,' then click the right arrow.
- In
the first field type in SECNet. At the bottom choose 'Modem' then click
the right arrow.
- Select
your modem brand/speed in the box. If you don't know the modem type,
consult the documentation that came with your computer. Verify that
Modem Port is selected in the pop-up menu. Select 'Tone' at the bottom
- Click
the right arrow.
- In
the first field, type the dialup number 0198333777
- In
the second field, enter your login name. username@secnet.com.au
- In
the third field, enter your password.
- On
the 'PPP Connect Scripts' screen, select 'No' and click on the right
arrow.
- On
the IP Address screen, select 'No' and click on the right arrow.
- You
do not require a primary DNS.
- Press
the Return key.
- You
do not require a secondary DNS.
- In
the second field, type SECNet and click the right arrow.
- In
the first blank field, enter your email address, such as
username@secnet.com.au.au
- In
the second field, enter in your password. Then click the right arrow.
- In
the first field, type your username (your SECNet login name).
- In
the second field, type in secnet.com.au
- Click
the right arrow. Type in news.secnet.com.au
- Click
the right arrow.
- Click
on 'NO' if you are asked if you will use proxy servers for this
connection.
- Disable
the 'Connect when finished' checkbox, and then click the 'Go Ahead'
button.
- At
this point, you computer will make the necessary adjustments to your
settings. You are now finished with the Mac OS 8 Internet Setup
Assistant.
- You
can now continue setup of your SECNet connection by configuring a web
browser, email program, and Usenet news program. For best support, we
recommend both the Netscape Communicator and the Microsoft Internet
Explorer.

Set up your Email

How to set up Outlook Express
To setup your Outlook Express to handle your new POP3 e-mail account, please
follow the instruction below :-
Select Tools --> Accounts... to open the Internet Accounts dialog
box.

Click button Add and select Mail... to start the Internet
Connection Wizard.

Enter Your Name in the display name field. This name will appear in the From
field of the outgoing message. Type your name as it would you like to appear.
Click Next > button.
Enter your e-mail address in the E-mail address field. For example
USERNAME@secnet.com.au
Click Next > button to fill out the Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP)
server and Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field with mail.secnet.com.au

Click Next > button to enter your Internet Mail Logon information.
Enter your username in the Account name field and enter your password
in the Password field.

Click Next > button and Finish button to end the setting.

How to set up Eudora
Select Tool --> Options... to start the Options dialog box.

Select Getting Started Category
Enter your name in the Real name field. This name will appear in the
From field of your outgoing mail.
Enter your full e-mail address in the Return address field. For
example USERNAME@secnet.com.au
Enter mail.secnet.com.au in the Mail Server(Incoming) field.
Enter your username in the Login Name field.
Enter mail.secnet.com.au in the SMTP Server(Outgoing) field.

Click OK button to finish settings.
When you check your mail you will be prompted to enter your password.

How to set up Netscape Mail
Start Netscape Messenger from the Start menu or icon on the desktop or hard
drive.
Click on Edit Pull-down Menu
Select Preferences.
Netscape Communicator
Click on the + or > in front of Mail & Newsgroups to show the
sub-categories
Click on Identity. Fill in:
Your name
Internet E-mail Address
Click on Mail Server (under Identity) and Click Add.
Fill in Server Name: secnet.com.au
In Server Type choose POP3 from options.
In User Name field fill in your username.
Click OK
Now fill in Outgoing Mail(SMTP) secnet.com.au
In Outgoing mail server user name type your isername
Select the radio button for "If Possible" for the Use SSL
option.
Click OK
